European Championship and World Open Championship 2011 - home

The ESC/WOSC is the most important regular annual Shogi tournament in Europe.

2011 it took place in Ludwigshafen, Germany - from Thursday, the 14th till Sunday, the 17th of July.

The entire event consisted of four tournaments.
The most important events have been the European Championship and the World Open Shogi Championship.

A great variety of players took part from very young players and beginners to good players including the top Europeans and some strong players from other parts of the world.
In the main tournament the Japanese players dominated the field.

It was also a very social event. Most players stayed directely in the Heinrich-Pesch-Haus so that we could stay together to play shogi or enjoy the evening together. We made a trip to the "Dürkheimer Fass" and had some fun at bowling.

All results are online now.

We would like to thank all helpers and volunteers for their great support!

Oliver Orschiedt, Frank Rövekamp.
